Growing up in the islands (Caribbean) this drink was “Sorrel”. Here in the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ other names for Sorrel are Hibiscus, Roselle & Jamaica. In ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น the drink is popular during the Christmas season, but almost equally as popular as a beach drink or a hangout drink, mixed with your favorite alcohol (Rum seems to be a good choice, but please don’t limit your choices, vodka, gin, prosecco ect.). Since I don’t have access to freshly picked Sorrel I use the dry sepals which I rehydrate by boiling in water. A few basic ingredients that go into making Sorrel drink (clove, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, your choice of sweetener etc.) however there are those who hold their recipes under ๐Ÿ”. @ Calypso Kitchen we have several recipe variations for the perfect Sorrel for your Summer drinks or Mixer. Salut!! Call or message us to place your order
